Overview

The trails leading to the rice paddies of Batad are an uphill-downhill trek and after three hours, you are rewarded with the spectacle of sculpted terraces forming an ampitheater, complete with entertainment from birdsong. Said to be the best-preserved of all the rice terraces in the region, it’s a sight only the fit and few can behold.

  • Take a dip at Tapiyah Falls.
  • Hike to the quaint village of Banga-an.
  • Pass through small villages, try local food and immerse yourself in the Ifugao way of life.
  • As part of your trip, you can also gaze in reverence at the panoramic Mayoyao Rice Terraces and their dome-shaped burial tombs, called Abfo’or.
  • Enjoy a cultural show around a bonfire while sipping local coffee.
