Jeepney

Undisputedly the King of Philippine roads, these flamboyant, loud and ubiquitous means of public transport are either a source of wonder or exasperation. They contribute to traffic but are most commonly used by commuters due to their sheer number and ability to traverse smaller roads.

At times, they play pop music at eardrum-busting levels, or blow their funny-sounding horns for maximum effect. Their decorations are a form of folk art, usually a joint effort by both driver and owner;  garish, funky, artistic and expressive. Religious idols line its dashboards and romantic poetry adorn its sides.

A jeepney ride is an adventure in itself and something every visitor must try.
